After the global success of the unique #LegalServiceDesign jams held across London, Sydney and Chicago in 2015 and 2016, Janders Dean and LexisNexis are pleased to announce the world’s first #LegalDataJam will be held in London in May 2017 in parallel with Janders Dean’s annual Legal Horizons Conference. (#JDHorizons)
Facilitated by Janders Dean’s experts, the Legal Data Jam will bring together over 30 participants from 15 firms to explore opportunities for the utilisation of data across a number of commercial and operational service areas – including having teams focus on the use of data to tackle issues with diversity, collaboration, capacity management, and client service.
With participants ranging from partners and associates to pricing and technology leads, six diverse teams will be formed to explore and experiment on the day, with firm representatives being mixed to ensure collaboration and co-operation across peer groups and firms.
Firms participating in this unique facilitated exploratory activity in London include:
- Slaughter & May
- Allen & Overy
- Clifford Chance
- Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
- Herbert Smith Freehills
- Taylor Wessing
- Reed Smith
- Stevens & Bolton
- Stewarts Law
“Our client firms have shown an amazing level of interest in this jam, and we are excited to work with LexisNexis on making it happen,” said Justin North, founder of Janders Dean. “This is a great opportunity for firms to see the art of the possible when it comes to the real application and power of data in law.”
“Too often we see confusion in the law firm market across these areas. Firms find it difficult to separate the ‘law of data’ with ‘data of law’ when they start their exploratory journeys, and even more concerning is that many firms believe their information architecture or internal data maintenance efforts constitute a data strategy” he said.
“This is a great way for firms to learn and explore in a safe and open environment with like-minded peers. We’ve been amazed by the level of interest and market buzz that our concept has generated again this year, and we’re so excited for our clients to be part of it” concluded North.
