Justin North – Director

Justin is the founder of Janders Dean and specialises in working with Board and Management Team level resources and leading Information Technology and Knowledge Management planning projects aimed at improving firm efficiencies, profitability, fee earner working practices and user experiences. His role requires in depth expertise and understanding not only of law firm management processes and emerging technologies, but also of the unique law firm processes and the way in which lawyers and law firm user communities/clients operate.

As part of the development and deployment of management, knowledge, innovation, and technology strategies for international law firms, Justin has regularly worked with resources of all levels of law firm management and with practicing lawyers in multiple international jurisdictions in order to improve departmental priorities, address people management and skill issues, and mentor staff in multiple support departments on their roles within project execution. Justin regularly works directly with senior international partnership and management level personnel, and liaises between technical project staff and senior sponsorship teams to ensure communication and change management aspects of an engagement do not threaten technical milestones, project success, usability goals, or defined and agreed customer service level agreements.

Prior to forming Janders Dean, Justin was a lead consultant with Hildebrandt Baker Robbins & Company for five years, operating out of the London and New York and has held senior roles with Deloitte and some of the world’s largest law firms. Justin has over a decade’s experience working directly firms in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and the wider Asia-Pacific region, and is considered a thought leader in law firm transformation and innovation.

Allister Spencer – Director

Allister is a senior leader of the firm’s Operational Transformation and Technology practice area.

Allister is the Functional User Acceptance Testing and Technical Acceptance Testing leader for Janders Dean on a number of Practice Management System Implementation/Remediation projects, and has also led the redesign of workflow, delegation and working practice changes aimed at ensuring lawyer, secretarial and financial accounting personnel efficiency on numerous rescue projects that we have been called into.

Allister is an Elite 3E technical expert, and has a wealth of experience in both Elite 3E and the IntApp application suite. He has strong technical phase project management skills, is experienced with requirements gathering methodologies and data migration techniques, and also has a strong understanding of law firm financial practices and procedures.

Prior to joining Janders Dean, Allister worked with Australian law firm McCullough Robertson where his role was to hold primary responsibility for the management of enhancement programmes and major upgrades to the firm’s Practice Management System (Elite Enterprise) in order to ensure that the firm achieved a tangible return on their investment. Between 2007 and 2010, Allister was the President of the Asia Pacific Thomson Reuters Elite User Group.

Stephanie Abbott – Director

Stephanie is the leader of our APAC Knowledge Management & Innovation Practice and is a dynamic and innovative senior consultant in the areas of legal knowledge management and organisational development. She has been working with law firms and in-house legal teams in the areas of knowledge management, process improvement, technology and learning for over 13 years, and combines deep experience in her field of expertise with a strong commercial and practical sense.

Stephanie combines a big-picture outlook with strong attention to detail. She has a proven track record in establishing new knowledge management functions, extending established good knowledge management practices into new geographies or practice areas, integrating internal and client-focussed knowledge activities, and updating, refocusing and re-energising established knowledge operations for greater efficiency and value.

Stephanie started her career as a practising lawyer, which gives her an intimate understanding of the priorities, needs and behaviour driving the organisational dynamics of her legal clients. She has held senior organizational development and knowledge management roles in major international law firms, such as Mayer Brown and Gilbert + Tobin.

Natalie Kuebler –  Director

Natalie specialises in the delivery of domain expertise in the planning, design/iterative improvement and implementation of a variety of key legal business processes including New Business Intake (Client and Matter Inception), Risk (Information Barrier and Conflicts Management) and Finance (Practice Management and Time Capture). She has a deep understanding of law firm cultures, management processes and supporting technologies, but also of lawyer behaviours and the ways in which law firm user communities operate from a change management perspective.

Natalie has diverse knowledge of processes and the supporting software implementations within the legal industry, and utilises her knowledge of PRINCE2, Agile and her Accounting degree to maximise our client project success. Prior to joining Janders Dean, Natalie worked as a Senior Engagement Manager at Intapp, where she managed the delivery of New Business Intake, Conflicts, Walls and Time implementations across a large number of Magic and Silver Circle law firms. Prior to that, Natalie has worked exclusively with law firms, where her roles varied from full function accounting operations to project management and process re-engineering roles. She has worked with two firms to start internal Project Management Offices.

Sinéad Burke – Associate Director

Sinéad is a Director level consultant with Janders Dean and has been responsible for the success creation, implementation and management of innovative legal service delivery transformation and large-scale volume-based near-shoring litigation -support and legal practice support functions for global law firms.

Prior to joining Janders Dean, Sinéad was the Director of Herbert Smith Freehill’s Alternative Legal Services (ALT) business in Asia and Australia, and was involved in the setting up a team of 50 lawyers and legal analysts. Sinéad advises our clients on ensuring that the highest possible standards of legal service delivery (to both internal and external clients) can be achieved with positive change, adoption and financial outcomes.

Adele Hoyle – Senior Consultant

Adele is a Senior Consultant at Janders Dean with a big picture vision and drive to make that vision a reality. She has been instrumental in the drive for adopting a customer centric approach to process improvement and product management. Prior to Janders Dean, Adele has held roles at LexisNexis, Smokeball Australia and VSc Solutions.

Michelle Wilkie – Senior Consultant

Michelle and is a leading process and configuration analyst across the areas of law firm Practice Management System upgrade and improvement projects. Michelle has held senior systems, transformation, and finance/accounting roles at numerous private practice firms across the Australia/APAC region, and is regularly called on by our clients to assist with the development and management of operational process review and transformation activities. Michelle has been involved in numerous Elite Enterprise, Elite 3E and IntApp implementations.

Rebecca Kiss – Senior Consultant

Rebecca is a Senior Consultant at Janders Dean. She has a wealth of experience over 11 years in Finance based roles, focusing largely on process efficiencies improvements. Prior to joining Janders Dean she has held roles at McCullogh Robertson, Virgin Australia, ClarkeKann Lawyers and now at Rebecca Kiss Consulting.

Jessica Cooke – Senior Consultant

As a Senior Consultant at Janders Dean, Jessica provides specialist advice on a number of core professional services systems including practice management systems, new business intake and conflicts, information barrier management and test strategies.
Through her work with various law firms, she has an extensive knowledge of Aderant Expert, Elite 3E and Intapp Open and supports her clients through delivery of both large and small improvement projects.
With capabilities spanning a number of analytical functions, she can complete complex requirements gathering tasks, prepare detailed technical specifications, prepare a thorough test programme and also engage with stakeholders at various levels to support change management initiatives.

Anthea Ryder – Senior Consultant

Anthea is a Senior Consultant at Janders Dean. Her role as a global consultant, focuses on the go-live support during the implementation and upgrades of practice management systems within law firms. Prior to joining Janders Dean, Anthea has held senior roles at the NHS Property Services, Minter Ellison and Aveo Live Well.

Jennifer Cicero – Senior Consultant

Jennifer is a senior consultant at Janders Dean with extensive senior management experience. Specifically in Finance roles within the Professional Services Industry. She focuses on the implementation of strategies to improve business procedures and policies. Prior to joining Janders Dean Jennifer held roles at Gilbert + Tobin, La Bodega, TressCox Lawyers, Fairfax Media, and Capgemini Consulting.

Cindy Goldin –  Senior Consultant

Cindy is a senior consultant at Janders Dean.  Cindy adds extensive value through her understanding of major projects including Intapp.  Cindy is renowned for the thoroughness in her approach and attention to detail to projects of all sizes. She has extensive experience in the industry, previously holding roles at Clifford Chance, Linklaters, Herbert Smith Freehills, Boodle Hatfield LLP, Charles Taylor PLC, Allen & Overy and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

Michael Boot – Associate Consultant

Michael is an Associate Consulting Director and founder of Northcroft Consulting who regularly partners with Janders Dean. He has extensive experience as an innovative and inspirational law firm COO, CFO and Finance Director. Michael has held various senior management and board level positions at Gilbert + Tobin, King&Wood Mallesons, and Stryker Australia.

Thu Tang – Consultant

Thu is a Consultant at Janders Dean focusing on delivering post-implementation support of Finance & Practice Management Systems. Thu delivers value to her clients and provides them with a model for excellence and integrity. Prior to joining Janders Dean, Thu has held senior roles at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, RBC, LobLaw Companies, Apotex and Accenture.

Philipp Thurner – Consultant

Philipp is a Consultant at Janders Dean. He has extensive experience on platforms including ContractExpress, BigHand Create, HotDocs, Kira, RAVN and Luminance. Prior to joining Janders Dean, Philipp was a Legal Solutions Technical Analyst for Gilbert+Tobin in Australia for five years. While at the firm, Philipp participated in multiple hackathons across LegalTech, RegTech and Blockchain themes.

Angela Metri – Consultant

Angela is a consultant at Janders Dean. She is passionate about the utilisation of new graduate skills in a market that has traditionally underutilised them. She believes in establishing a culture of investment in the legal industry to enable firms to stay abreast of changes in the global market. Prior to joining Janders Dean Angela held roles at Koorong, Slater & Gordon, Bauer Media Australia and the Australian Disputes Centre.

Joe May – Consultant

Joe is a Consultant at Janders Dean focusing on the development of Janders Dean. Joe was part of the Janders Dean LawWithoutWalls team for 2017, and joins from UCL Laws where he completed his Masters in International Law.

Rose Inglis – Consultant

Rose is consultant based in the London office of Janders Dean. She is an Australian qualified lawyer with over five years of international dispute resolution and litigation experience across multiple jurisdictions. As well as being a highly skilled lawyer, she has also led internal process improvement, knowledge management, and other change initiatives for leading law firms and corporate legal teams.  She has worked previously at Slater & Gordon in the UK and at the Victorian Transport Accident Commission (TAC) in Australia. Rose has an LLM in International Law from UCL, was selected for the LawWithoutWalls programme, and has a LLB / BA in Politics and Sociology from La Trobe University (Melbourne).

Keyser Soze – Senior Consultant/Fixer

Who is Keyser Soze? He is supposed to be Turkish. Some say his father was German. Nobody believed he was real. Nobody ever saw him or knew anybody that ever worked directly for him, but to hear Kobayashi tell it, anybody could have worked for Soze. You never knew. That was his power. After that, our guess is that you will never hear from him again. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that, he is gone.

Courtney Rickersey – Consultant

Courtney is consultant at Janders Dean. Alongside her role at Janders Dean, Courtney is currently a Judge’s Associate at the Brisbane Supreme Court. She has a passion for Access to Justice projects having worked previously at the Gold Coast Community Legal Centre and was part of the LawWithoutWalls programme, both as a student and an alumni advisor.

Yuriy Tyurin – Associate Development Lead

Yuriy is an associate consulting development lead at Janders Dean.  With over 15 years of experience in design, development and implementation of financial systems, Yuriy brings a wealth of experience across a range of industries.  Yuriy adds extensive value through his ability to help people adopt and utilise new technology in addition to the automation of business processes.  Prior to founding ConceptAngle Consulting, Yuriy held roles at Minter Ellison, AstroSoft-Enisey and the Defence Force of Russia.

Brita Golsby-Smith – Marketing and Events Manager (APAC)

Brita is our Events Management led for Janders Dean events in the APAC region. She works closely with the team to manage the logistics of the annual APAC conferences and industry thought leadership events. Brita has a long history in the international marketing and business development discipline, having held senior positions across numerous industries. Prior to working at Janders Dean Brita has held roles at Gilbert + Tobin, Westpac, eTradingGroup, Australian International Marine Export Group and Multiple Mummas.

Sophie Tversky – Research Analyst

Sophie is our legendary forward thinking and creative Research Analyst. Sophie is committed to making our research related activities world class. Fitting with the overall global culture of Janders Dean, Sophie believes that the disruption of the legal industry provides a unique opportunity to better meet client needs, enhance inter-disciplinary collaboration, and improve the overall wellbeing of legal professionals. Sophie is currently the Victorian President of the Legal Forecast.
